Will this be your first time kayaking? Great! Come on out! More challenging trips are available for those with a little more experience. Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are not required and walk-ins are always welcome. It is recommended that you call ahead if you have a group (15 or more people). We do offer online booking for your convenience, it saves a bit of time, but it is not required.
How does the trip work?
We make your trip so easy – we leave the fun up to you! Park at our outpost, get checked in and take our shuttle to the State Park. This is our launch site for all tubes. You can take your time floating down the river, and when you arrive back at out outpost you can spend the rest of the day with us. Upon your return we have a full size sand volleyball court, large jenga, cornhole – for those that are up for some competition…or just relax in a swing and watch the river go by& enjoy a picnic on the picnic table by the river. On weekends, we offer hot dogs for you to enjoy off the river. No matter what you choose to do – it will be a fun and memorable day.
How long is the trip?
Trip times vary based on river levels. Average time is 2-3 hours. Check out our website for a link to view current river levels.
What do I get for the price?
- A durable large tube. We do offer some with a backrest, or cup holder, or covered bottom (small upgrade charge)– but all have the ability to hook to your friends
- Free parking and a shuttle ride
- Entrance Fee to the State Park – launching site
- Sandbar for swimming upon your return & volleyball, cornhole, jenga, music, picnic areas
- Changing Room and Shower& Port O Let
What is your weather policy?
We are open rain or shine. It is at your discretion if you would like to start the trip despite questionable weather conditions. Call us the morning of your trip with any concerns that you have and we can discuss.
Are there any discounts for groups or those in the military?
Military discounts for those that are serving or who have served &Groups of 15 or more receive a 10 percent discount. Call us ahead of time to arrange special discounts for large groups , such as churches, schools, scouts, etc…
Can I bring my dog?
Where do we check in?
We are located at 153 Gator Walk, Ridgeville, SC. 29472. We will shuttle you up river to the launch site at Givhans Ferry State Park
Do you have lockers?
No. Secure all items in your car. We are happy to keep your car keys for you.
What should I wear?
You should wear your bathing suit or shorts, whatever you don’t mind getting wet. Sunscreen is recommended – you will be on the river for a couple hours.
Are life jackets required?
This is at your discretion – we do not supply life jackets, please be prepared by bringing your own life jackets.
What not to bring?
Do not take anything on the river that you do not wish to lose or cannot get wet. If you drop it in the river, it’s most likely gone forever. This includes cell phones, electronics, jewelry, wallets, keys, etc. We are not responsible for any items lost or damaged that you bring on the river. You may lock personal belongings in your car, and we will keep your keys securely for you while you are on the river.
Can I bring a cooler?
Yes. Coolers are welcome. Bring your own cooler filled with beverages, snacks, etc. Cooler Tubes are available for $5, $10, and $15. Glass containers and Styrofoam are prohibited.
Littering is illegal. We ask that you please hold on to your empty cans and other trash and return it to the outpost. We have trash cans at our outpost where you may dispose of garbage properly when you return.
